Inmate Messaging
Email Your Pen Pal Instantly!

Many of our users want to be able to message inmates instantly. Sadly, inmates don’t have direct access to free email. Instead, they’re forced to use a prison email system. But…the good news is, you can sign up and message them in real time! Below are details on how to do so quickly and easily:

Step 1: Learn which messaging system this inmate uses. The information can be found on the inmate’s profile page.

Other email messaging systems you might see include: JPay, Securus, Connect Network, Smart Inmate, or CorrLinks

Step 2: Visit whichever of the following websites corresponds to your pen pal’s email messaging system:
GettingOut: https://www.gettingout.com
JPay: https://www.jpay.com
Securus: https://securustech.net
ConnectNetwork: Click Here
Smart Inmate: Click Here
CorrLinks: Unfortunately, the inmate generally must first send you a request to be added to their account. The request will be emailed CorrLinks. Be sure to check your spam folders if you don’t receive it. The great news about CorrLinks is that it’s usually completely free to exchange messages with your inmate pen pal!

Step 3: Locate your pen pal in the system. You usually will need their name, inmate number, and the state in which they’re incarcerated. You may also need the name of the facility. All of this can be found on their LockedUpLadies.com profile page. See the example below. You’ll see the inmate’s full name, #, Facility name (FCI Waseca), and State of incarceration.

Step 4: Purchase stamps through this email messaging system. Stamps are always less expensive than the United States Postal Service, and emails are delivered almost instantly. Prices for stamps range anywhere from 5 cents to 50 cents, with the average being 25 cents per message sent. Generally, you’ll be required to spend a minimum of $0.75 – $5.00 depending on the system you’re using.

Step 5: Write your new pen pal an email message and wait for their reply. It’s that simple!
